I am going to be an Art Instructor!

Ok, I know, there were a lot of things that happened to me. And I haven’t posted since the Blogger’s Day. Yeah, maybe I am lazy in doing a blog, but hey! I have a valid reason for this.

First is that I am busy doing my own website. Yep! You heared (or rather read) me right, I am doing a website. Because maybe I am more a website person than a blogger because I am lazy of updating regularly while website contents are evergreen, so there. My website will be focusing to what I love most — comics. However, because of the recent turn of events the making of the website will be delayed. Though, I already bought a webhost and secured my domain name. HARHARHAR!

I’m so excited, but I am holding my breath because I have to do something first before continuing with my website.

That is, I am preparing for my new job— being a teacher! Yep you heared me right again! I am going to be a teacher, an art teacher to be exact. I will be teaching students from UPIS.

I like teaching and whats more! It’s art!

Though, I found my teaching load to be really heavy, so I have to compromise my website project for a while in my preparation for my new job. I will be teaching from Fundamentals of Art to Philippine Art! Well, there are really a lot to put them in this post that might fill 90% of this post haha.

Once I already had my website up and running I’ll post it here so that you’ll know, but for now I’ll keep it secret. :)

Blogger’s Day

It has been a long time since I last logged in to this blog and updated it. (Sorry for being so lazy..) Well, not really, i have been so busy in work that when I arrive home all i want to do is sleep or read a book just to relax. But today is not an exemption for that excuse and I need to blog this right away because what happened today was just unexpected. Unexpected in a way which is good. :)

I was expecting my day to be just ordinary (aside from the fact that I’ll be receiving my salary today, which I am, of course, expecting too). I expected my day to be just like any other day: wake up early, go to work,go back home, check updates on the net, draw, prepare the things for tomorrow, and read some books or sleep. But since I have some money to spare, why not go to market and to buy some books? I also remembered that I have a comic book reservation last sunday, which i don’t have time to drop by until today so probably they would put it back to the shelf again. Which is very true, then I discovered that the comic book was already sold. boohoo.. :( So I just bought some books instead, here are the books that I bought:

A wind in the Door by Madeleine L’Engle

A Thousand Country Roads by Robert James Waller (this is an epilogue to The Bridges of Madison County, yeah, yeah, I know what you are thinking guys, but please spare me with this one, I am just curious what happened to the characters.)

New Traps in the Chess Opening by Al Horowitz (so now I could easily defeat Lei and David, wahahah!)

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (I always love the classics, I hope I’ll also love this one.)

The Book of Five Rings - the real art of japanese management by Miyamoto Musashi (just curious on how the Japanese manage their business)

I’ve Got Your Number! -using the secrets of numerology to shape your life by Karen J. David (not that I believe to this kind of things, but I might use this as a reference for my stories. :))

and The Snows of Kilimanjaro and other stories by Ernest Hemingway (needless to say, but I’ll say it anyway, he is my idol if it comes to contemporary lit.)

After buying these books, I went to Fullybooked The Fort to buy my copy of Fables Cover Collection by James Jean. Unfortunately, the books were out of stock and they are waiting for another shipping so I just reserved myself a copy. Then I rode the elevator to check the books upstairs, knowing that the CG books and most of the Art books are located in the 5th floor I just pressed the 5th flr button. And to my surprise, I happened to land to an event being held there namely the Blogger’s Day. Fortunately I am a blogger so I just registered to it and joined the event. The event was fun, lots of pasta, of breads, of hams, of drinks and what not. There I met the people from http://yehey.com/ who are also a copresentor of the event together with http://fullybookedonline.com/. I joined them on their table since I don’t know anybody in the event. They even told me that they have openings for creatives but unfortunately I am hired already, but they are so fun to be with that I am considering that. After that the finally! The big surprise! They disclosed to us the books and that each of us will be having 2 books! So we rushed in looking for beautiful books, a lot of good books that’s why we have diffuculty picking them. I picked “The Elements of Taste” by Gray Kunz and Peter Kaminsky (which was handed to me by Elaine, thanks Elaine!) and Collapsible -the genius of space-saving design by Per Mullerup.

It was really an unexpected happening today.

Grrr, The Eheads Reunion Concert Conclusion!

Hi guys, first of, I want to apologize to you because it
has been a very long time since my last update to this
blog. Don’t you worry, I’m not dead, at least not yet
just busy with many stuffs for the past months.

And yeah, what a shame my last post is the one that is
about the reunion concert of eheads, so i just feel that
I need to put closure to this. A lot had happened after
my last post about them. But what a shame too! I wasn’t
able to go to the concert. :( Because first, it was the
day that I became a godfather for my second godchild Kyle
and second I don’t have the budget to go there! (that’s
why I was just so happy about the free concert which,
unfortunately never turned out free because as we all
know the cigarette company that sponsored Eheads pulled
out because they had some issues with the DOH).

So there, my friends told me that it was a blast! (like
what pao told me in his comment to my last entry). Heck,
I even saw one of my friends being interviewed to a tv news
report program. Though, as all of us know, Eli Buendia got
a heart problem because of over fatigue and has to be
brought to a hospital. In turn, Eli never finished the
other 15 songs he is supposed to sing. So there, there
are many talks and speculations over the net that there
is going to be a second Eheads reunion concert. Which I
really do hope that there is and I really do hope that
I have some money to spare for that concert. So all you
Eheads fans out there keep your fingers crossed!

How To Get a Pass to the Eheads Reunion Concert?

This post is to answer Paopi’s questions about the particulars of the Eheads reunion concert specially about the tickets.

First of all, the tickets are for free, so if you paid for it then you are duped. :D So then you’ll ask me how to get a pass or ticket for the concert, it is easy just go to www.marlboro.com.ph and register to the red list. In this red list they will ask you series of questions (like a survey) like do you smoke? what kind of cigarette you smoke? Secondary brand? What do you do when there is no brand of cigarette you are looking from the store you are buying? (of course these questions are just paraphrase of the actual questions there in the survey, but you get the point right?) So even though you don’t smoke you have to pretend you are a smoker in order to enter the red list and log in to their site. :)) So yeah, Pao, it is your choice: to smoke or not to smoke. haha, but here in this case, just pretend you are a smoker. ;)

Then, after that they will ask you about your ID, this is for them to check if you are of legal age (18 and above) to attend the concert. So you have to scan your ID or any documents that prove that you are of legal age (birth cert., driver’s license, NBI, etc,).

So there, after that they will tell you that you have to wait for at least a week to see if you qualified for the red list and they will contact you to your preferred mode of communication.

There! I can’t wait for the concert, haha! Guys see you there! ;D

EHEADS REUNION CONCERT

Hi guys, I’m here to bring you a good news! (which probably by now is not a news anymore, so this post is for those who haven’t know this yet. ;) )

Eheads confirmed that they will have a reunion concert on Aug. 30, 2008 at the CCP Open Grounds according to the interview last night in GMA 7 to the Eheads vocalist Ely Buendia. The greatest Pinoy rock band of all time will be reunited in this concert and it is for free!

However there are some contentions growing in the net about the real purpose of the concert. The concert is sponsored by Marlboro that is why many are suspecting that they are using Eheads to sell or advertise there products. Which will be banned beginning this month to advertise their products in print, radio and tv. Thus, they are looking for new ways to advertise their products. In fact Marlboro is going to pay Eheads 10 million php for this 45 minutes concert.

But for me, it is just for the old times sake why I’m going to the concert. I want to hear Eheads sing again my favorite songs such as “Ang Huling El Bimbo”, “Magasin” and With a Smile” together again — LIVE! As a matter of fact, I am not a smoker myself. :)

So if you are an Eheads fan, see you there at the concert! :D

This is the old prologue for The Lost Tales of Gliridia which I have finished in 2004, just before college. (Too old that it’s already deteriorating edgewise, hehe). This is originally entitled The Destruction and never published. This is supposed to be a compressed form of 25 episodes or so that’s why as you can see it has a lot of dialogues and it’s very chaotic because i’m trying to summarize all the event in just one episode which turned out to be a great disaster. So now I’m rewriting everything, new character designs, new storyline, new style and new treatment for the story. Here, I’m going to divide it in four parts because it has a lot of pages. I hope you still like it though, as the old me enjoyed working on it. :D
